Religious Exemption Repeal Update!

Thank you to everyone who participated in any way in the 24-hour public hearing on the bills to repeal the religious exemption in CT, SB 568 and HB 6423.  Whether you were lucky enough to testify at the hearing, or submitted written testimony, we made history!  Once again, our community rose to the occasion in a big way, with over 1,900 people registering to testify, and over 3,000 submitting written testimony.  The overwhelming majority of the written and oral testimony was IN OPPOSITION to the proposal to eliminate the religious exemption.

So what's next?  The Public Health Committee will be bringing one or both of these bills to a vote as early as next Wednesday, February 24, 2021.  The committee meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  Since the bills are not on the agenda for Monday's meeting, the earliest they could come up for a vote is on Wednesday.  We will keep you updated with information as soon as we receive it.  In the meantime, please try to do whatever you can to relax and stay healthy, and stay strong in the faith that we can defeat this truly evil legislative agenda.

The CT Freedom Alliance, LLC will be co-sponsoring a rally for religious and health freedom on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Capitol Building in Hartford, followed by a march to a candlelight prayer vigil featuring religious leaders from varying faiths.  Please join us for this show of solidarity for our constitutional rights and, most of all, our children!  More details will be released shortly.
