***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***
HARTFORD, CT (JUNE 22, 2021) - The CT Freedom Alliance, LLC (CTFA) is calling on Governor Ned Lamont to immediately and publicly rescind his plans to increase the uptake of the COVID-19 vaccinations in young persons through coercive methods. Earlier this evening, News 12 CT political reporter John Craven tweeted that Governor Lamont planned to release “new incentives ... in the next few days aimed at young people, including free front-row seats to concerts.”
“Given the fact that the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is holding a meeting this week in which they will consider the rescission of the Emergency Use Authorizations for 12 to 17 year-olds due to rapidly increasing reports of myocarditis in young persons following their doses, the Governor’s plans are not merely irresponsible, but downright diabolical,” says CTFA President Dawn Jolly. “Governor Lamont must not only immediately retract his statement to Mr. Craven, but should also issue an executive order immediately prohibiting the issuance of COVID-19 shots to minors.” Last month, CTFA issued a press release calling for such an order after the CT Department of Public Health confirmed 18 cases of myocarditis in young persons following COVID-19 vaccinations in Connecticut alone. Since then, a CDC report has confirmed at least 475 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis nationwide in persons 30 years of age or younger.
Just today, the World Health Organization revised their guidance to state that it is not necessary for most children to get vaccinated against COVID-19, and cautioned that “[m]ore evidence is needed on the use of the different COVID-19 vaccines in children to be able to make general recommendations on vaccinating children against COVID-19.”
